Artist Josep de Togores
Josep de Togores was a painter Spanish .Son of Josep de Togores i Muntades, president of the Association of Barcelona Football Clubs and co-founder of the newspaper El Mundo Deportivo , at age 13 suffers Togores meningitis and remains deaf , which led him to become interested in painting. He began his artistic training with Joan Llaverias and Felix Mestres . Thanks to a grant from the City of Barcelona , in 1907 goes to Paris , where he came into contact with the work of Paul Cézanne . In Brussels paints a picture ( The Crazy Cerdanyola ) which is awarded at the International Exposition celebrating the city. Later stage begins impressionist in his work. Back in Catalonia , Togores becomes part of Courbet Group of Barcelona, and after the First World War he returned to Paris, where he came into contact with the surrealism through his relationship with artists such as Georges Braque , Aristides Maillol , Max Jacob or Picasso , arriving to sign an exclusive contract with this dealer, Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler , until 1931 . This will be your most surreal and experimental period. During the 1920s becoming known in Europe , and during the following years exploring different styles such as Cubism or scholarship , leaving influenced by the avant-garde of the time and getting to have influences of classicism . In 1932 , again in Barcelona, dealer changes, beginning his relationship with Francesc Cambo and empenzando to paint portraits of Catalan high society. He died in 1970 due to a traffic accident.
