Alena Plihal was born in Czech Republic and lived in Quebec since 1989. With a degree in plastic arts at UQAM, she continued her training in live model workshops of abstract painting workshops. The combination of charcoal, pigment, acrylic and oils gives to Alena an extraordinary freedom of expression. The human body is presented alone and sometimes in loving couple and try to fix the trace of the body, especially speaking of his desire to exist forever and transcend death. In abstract, the combination of oil pastel, charcoal, acrylic and oils superposition causes high transparencies. Color, main theme in works of Alena transports us into a world of flavors, in a contrasts world where the composition is transformed into an image leaving brush strokes, charcoal and fingers touches become a comfortable balance for the eye.
