Nydia Lozano





Artist Nydia Lozano

A disciple to Valencian master José Espert, from 1965 to 1971 she studied at the San Carlos Fine Arts College in Valencia. Awards: Ciudad de Játiva (1965), Caja de Ahorros del Sureste Plastic Arts Biennal Medal (1968), Education and Science Department Silver Medal (1968). After working in the illustration field, in the early 80s she started an exhibiting carreer in Spain, expanding it later to Portugal, France and especially the United States. She is married to painter Leopoldo Sánchez and they are currently based in Cartagena, Spain. Her work, in the realist Spanish School, focuses on the female figure either in interior, intimate compositions or in luminist garden scenes.
